Good news for radio this week (Feb 2022) and its reported in the latest RAJAR results that radio has an 89% reach of the population.
The results show that 49.5 million adults listen to live radio for 20.3 hours per week on average.
There was an increase to 48% (from 47.1% Q3 2021) for commercial radio with the BBC slipping from 50.9% to 49.9%
A slight reduction for those listening on DAB as tis dropped from 43% to 42.5%, also dropping was the use of smart speakers who fell from 18.1% share to 16.9% Digital TV listening is up from 4.7% to 5.1% based on last quarter. Surprisingly AM/FM has increased from 34.2% to 35.6%
Smart speaker users claim 51% of people listen weekly, with only 21% reporting to listen everyday.
